Two new polio cases have emerged from Sindh, increasing the nationwide total to 39 for the year, according to reliable sources. The cases were reported in the Sanghar and MirpurKhas districts, with confirmation from the National Reference Lab at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Just a day prior, three additional cases were documented in Balochistan, raising the province’s total to 20 cases this year.
The Balochistan Health Department confirmed that the affected children are a nine-month-old from Chaman, an 18-month-old from Pishin, and a five-year-old from Nushki. Tragically, all three children have been left disabled as a result of the disease. In response to these alarming developments, health authorities are ramping up efforts to combat the polio virus and safeguard the health of vulnerable children across the regions.
