DUBAI – Bangladesh expatriates make a significant portion of the UAE population as the number of expats from this country stand above 700,000.

The Bangladeshi citizens are engaged in various jobs and businesses in all emirates of the UAE.

As per the law, all UAE citizens and residents, including Bangladeshis, are required to hold a valid Emirates ID card as absence of it or an expiry ID can land them in trouble.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security-ICP of the United Arab Emirates is the competent authority to issue or renew the Emirates ID cards to all of its citizens and expatriates living in the country.

Where to Apply for Emirates ID Renewal

All UAE and GCC nationals and expatriates, including Bangladesh nationals, can apply for renewal of Emirates ID card at the website of ICP, or through an accredited typing centre.

Applicant might need to visit one of ICP’s service centres to provide your biometric details.

Emirates ID Card Renewal Fee Update

Following is the fee structure for the Emirates ID card renewal in UAE:

AED 100 (depending on the period of years): Card issuance fee for five years.

AED150 dirhams: Service fee

AED 30 dirhams: Typing Center fee

150 dirhams: fees for urgent service, which are carried out at customer happiness centers
