DUBAI – A significant number of Pakistani nationals and citizens of other countries travel to Dubai and other UAE states for employment every year.
Before taking up the jobs, the workers or employees are required to undergo medical examination as upon clearing the medical tests, visas are pasted on their passports and employment contracts are issued to them.
A person failing the tests is repatriated to the home country as authorities UAE does not compromise on health of its citizens and residents.
An official of a medical test centre in Abu Dhabi told local media that UAE has set four medical tests in line with the international standards to assess the health of the foreign worker.
He said that “there are many job opportunities in the Emirati labor market, so the general health screening for newcomers can be done in advance.”
He further added that a central medical test center has been established for job seekers, which is of high quality.
Four Mandatory Tests for Foreign Workers
The four mandatory medical tests include CBC (Complete Blood Count), chest ultrasound to assess the lungs and respiratory system, as well as examinations for joints and blood pressure, among others.
