Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang held an important meeting with Pakistan’s top military leadership during his visit to Islamabad for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
In the high-level meeting, Prime Minister Li met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the service chiefs of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and expand their strategic partnership, which has been a cornerstone of regional stability.
Discussions during the meeting covered various critical issues, including defence cooperation and counter-terrorism efforts.
Prime Minister Li praised Pakistan’s military for its pivotal role in the fight against terrorism, acknowledging the sacrifices and achievements of the armed forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
Prime Minister Li Qiang assured China’s continued support and cooperation in Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism, emphasizing the need for joint collaboration to tackle emerging security challenges.
