ISLAMABAD – National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
During the meeting, both leaders agreed to enhance relations between the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Chinese Parliament, and to further expand trade ties between the two countries.
The leaders also agreed on joint efforts for regional peace and stability and discussed the importance of joint ventures in the energy sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is an honor for Pakistan, and the forum will promote regional cooperation and strengthen regional stability.
He emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to the SCO platform, and the summit would highlight Pakistan’s positive image on the global stage.
He further stated that Pakistan would work for regional development through the SCO platform, and that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects hold special significance for both countries.
The Speaker highlighted that Pakistan offers vast investment opportunities in various sectors and stressed the need to enhance educational and scientific cooperation. He also mentioned that cooperation in technology and the digital economy would greatly benefit the people of Pakistan.
Ayaz Sadiq added that China is Pakistan’s strategic partner, and future cooperation will be further strengthened.
The parliamentary collaboration between Pakistan and China would be increased, and exchanges of parliamentary delegations would be promoted in the future.
