ISLAMABAD – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that many of today’s opponents had previously supported the establishment of a Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).
Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari mentioned that since 2007, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) participated in every election with a manifesto that includes judicial reforms, including the establishment of federal constitutional courts.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that the 2006 Charter of Democracy, and the PPP’s election manifestos of 2013 and 2024 also mention the federal constitutional court.
“Many of today’s opponents have supported the federal constitutional court in the past,” said Bilawal.
He stated that the current opposition to the constitutional court is based on personal preferences or the prevailing political situation, whereas for nearly two decades, his party’s stance on the matter remained consistent.
The PPP chairman also said that under his leadership, every elected representative received a mandate from the people for the establishment of a federal constitutional court, which ensured equal representation for all.
