ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir extended warm reception to Chinese Premier in the federal capital.

Chinese premier landed in the country to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. Upon his arrival, COAs Asim Munir extended a warm welcome to the chinese premier at the prime minister’s house.

The meeting marked a significant moment as prime minister Li enthusiastically shook hands with general Munir, highlighting the strong military and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China. This interaction reflects the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including security and regional stability.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang was warmly welcomed in Islamabad today for a four-day visit, marking the first visit by a Chinese Premier to Pakistan in eleven years. He was received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Nur Khan Airbase, where a twenty-one-gun salute was presented.

The agenda includes a meeting between the two leaders, followed by delegation-level talks. They will participate in a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on China-Pakistan cooperation, which encompasses CPEC-2 and other major projects, along with the virtual inauguration of Gwadar International Airport. Additionally, Premier Li will attend the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization during his visit.
