LAHORE – Pakistan cricket team is facing tough situation as after losing six matches in a row and the grim record puts pressure on squad including removal of captain Shan Masood.

The ongoing series against Multan saw Pakistan’s disappointing defeat, indicating that PCB decided to remove Shan Masood as captain. The miserable loss tied record for Pakistan’s longest Test losing streak at six matches, making Shan the first skipper in country’s history to begin with six consecutive defeats.

In a historic turn of events, Team Greem became the first team ever to lose by innings after scoring over 500 runs in the first innings. Sources familiar with development said selection committee meeting scheduled for Friday is likely to finalise Shan Masood’s dismissal.

The new selection committee comprising Aleem Dar, Aqib Javed, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, and Hasan Cheema as voting members alongside PCB officials will make final decision.

Shan Masood’s tenure saw national team downfall, with three losses against Australia and three defeats against Bangladesh on home ground, culminating in the recent loss to England.

The grim record of 34-year-old saw raised concerns, marking him as the most unsuccessful captain in Pakistan’s cricket history.
