Inspector General of Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon convened crucial meeting to discuss security measures for Chinese nationals engaged in CPEC and non-CPEC projects in the province. The meeting focused on the movement of Chinese citizens, experts, and staff, reviewing existing security protocols and providing further directives. Attendees included Additional IGs, DIGs from Operations, Headquarters, IT, Security, Emergency Division, and various other officers, with some participating via video link.

During the meeting, the Additional IGs from Karachi Operations presented the current status and recommendations regarding security measures for Chinese nationals. They reported that, in light of current circumstances, the movement of Chinese citizens has been restricted to avoid unnecessary risks, with enhanced security measures implemented. IG Sindh instructed the formation of a committee headed by the Additional IG of Operations, including DIGs from Security, Karachi, Admin, Establishment, East, Headquarters, and SSP CTD, to review existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security measures for Chinese nationals and provide their recommendations.

He emphasized the need for a crackdown on vehicles with tinted windows, fake number plates, and police lights, calling for joint efforts from local police, traffic police, and the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) to ensure the effectiveness of this campaign. All actions during police operations should be documented using body-worn or other cameras. Additionally, IG Sindh instructed all officers to conduct security briefings for their personnel, particularly focusing on the protection of foreign nationals.
