An anti-corruption committee meeting was convened at the office of Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi, where various government officials participated, including officers from the Anti-Corruption Department. The meeting addressed numerous complaints regarding bribery and corruption in different government departments.
During the session, anti-corruption officers presented detailed information about 43 complaints received against officials from various departments. Notably, the highest number of complaints—ten—was against officials from the Registration Department.
The committee approved an open inquiry into all ten complaints against the registration officials. Other departments facing complaints included the Sindh Buildings Control Authority, with four officials under scrutiny, and two officials from the Karachi Development Authority (KDA).
Additional complaints were reported against the police, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Evacuee Trust Property Board, the Revenue Department, the Health Department, and the Education Department. The meeting emphasized the need for swift action, instructing the Anti-Corruption Department to complete inquiries against the implicated officials within one month.
Furthermore, the committee approved the filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) against three officials involved in corruption. Commissioner Naqvi urged that all corruption complaints be addressed promptly to uphold integrity in public service.
