CIA Chief William Burns said that American intelligence believes Israel and Iran do not want a full-scale war, but the risk of increasing tension in the region is real.
He said that the Middle East is a place where complicated situations are always occurring, and a perfectly stable situation is rare, especially in this region.
William Burns further said that the Iranian attack has exposed certain limits of Iran’s military capabilities.
Israel and the US need to take these capabilities seriously, he said.
Israel is carefully considering how to respond to the Iranian attack, but despite this caution, there is a risk of a wrong decision.
The CIA Chief also mentioned that leaders involved in Gaza negotiations must realize that enough is enough.
For a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages, difficult decisions and compromises must be made, keeping long-term stability in mind.
