The closing ceremony of the First Pakistan International Date Palm Festival took place on October 6, 2024, with appreciation certificates presented by Mr. Asim Tiwana, Director General of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Dr. Abdelouahhab Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Date Palm Award (KIDPA), and Mr. Ahed Karkouti, Public Relations Officer of KIDPA.

They visited each local and international exhibitor’s stall, where international dignitaries commended the joint efforts of Pakistan and the UAE for KIDPA, noting its successful outcomes. Their collaboration is expected to further enhance bilateral relations, foster people-to-people connections, and boost business confidence in future events.

The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the contributions of participants, organizers, and dignitaries who made the festival a remarkable success. Mr. Tiwana expressed heartfelt gratitude to all exhibitors, experts, and international participants, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing the date palm sector towards growth and sustainability.

The festival also showcased the variety of agro products and date by-products, addressing key industry concerns. International organizations such as GRASP, FAO, and the EU supported the event, and most awards were presented to farmers and growers from Sindh and Balochistan.

Looking ahead, the next event will be held in Jordan, where KIDPA plans to take Pakistani date producers to promote agro-based products on a global platform.
