Governor Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, has announced the establishment of a gym and the launch of IT courses at the National Press Club, Islamabad, under his Governor’s Initiative. The announcement came during a meeting at Governor House, where a 17-member delegation from the National Press Club, led by President AzharJatoi, met with the Governor.

The delegation had requested the development of a gym and IT classes at the press club. Governor Tessori acknowledged the press’s vital role in fostering democracy and stability in Pakistan and reiterated his commitment to support such initiatives. In his conversation with the delegation, Tessori said, “We cannot overlook the contributions of journalism. The press has played a key role in establishing and sustaining democracy.”

He also discussed various matters of interest, including the importance of promoting higher education, public welfare, and economic stability in the province. Tessori also reflected on his tenure as Governor, saying that the notification appointing him came during the sacred month of Rabi-ul-Awal, which he considered an honor. “On that day, I made a vow to serve the people wholeheartedly,” he stated. Tessori earned the title of “people’s governor” due to his frequent interactions with citizens, which he said he greatly enjoys.

In response to rising inflation, Tessori noted that he had initiated the distribution of ration bags to those in need, and so far, over 700,000 ration bags had been handed out, with the initiative continuing.

Discussing youth development, Tessori highlighted the ongoing efforts to train over 60% of Pakistan’s population in modern IT skills. “At present, 50,000 young people are enrolled in free IT courses at Governor House, with trainees earning between $300 to $600 per month. After course completion, they can earn up to $1,200 per month,” he added. He revealed that IT courses will soon start in Hyderabad, with similar plans for Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana, as part of his mission to turn Sindh into an IT hub. Governor Tessori also outlined several initiatives aimed at supporting those in need. Interest-free loans ranging from PKR 100,000 to PKR 10 million are being provided to skilled youth based on their business proposals.

In addition, breakfast is now being provided to schoolchildren, and women are being given sewing machines to support their families. Financial aid is also available for healthcare. Reflecting on key events, Tessori mentioned that millions of people have visited Governor House since he opened its doors to the public. During Ramadan, he hosted Iftar dinners, and on Eid-ul-Adha, meat was distributed to those in need. Additionally, victims of street crimes have been provided with motorcycles as compensation. He further discussed unifying various religious communities and fostering industrial and business ties during significant events at Governor House, including the visit of Dr. ZakirNaik.

Tessori has also spearheaded collaborations between IT students and global companies like Google, while strengthening diplomatic relations. He concluded by celebrating national heroes like Arshad Nadeem and Shahzaib Rand for their achievements. National Press Club Islamabad’s Secretary, Nayer Ali, shared that the club currently has 3,200 members, including 300 women, with its camp office located in Rawalpindi.
