This latest round of toll increases follows a series of hikes across Pakistan’s highway network, with the NHA previously raising rates on the M2 Motorway between Lahore and Islamabad in August 2024. The frequent adjustments have sparked concerns among travelers as commuting costs continue to rise.

Authorities linked toll hikes to rising operational costs and the necessity for ongoing infrastructure maintenance. This move is also part of a broader government strategy to enhance tax collection from the highway sector amid the country’s fiscal challenges.

Travelers are advised to factor in these higher toll rates when planning their journeys on major national routes.
