Malaysian Consulate General in Karachi hosted a grand reception at the Marriott Hotel to celebrate the 67th anniversary of Malaysia’s Independence. The event saw Governor Sindh, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, as the chief guest and was attended by members of the diplomatic community, government officials, Malaysian nationals, and close friends of Malaysia. Consul General of Malaysia, in his opening remarks, extended his gratitude to the distinguished guests, acknowledging the enduring relationship between Malaysia and Pakistan.

He emphasized the strong ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation across various sectors. During his speech, the Consul General shared an exciting development — the launch of Malaysia’s trade office in Karachi. Scheduled to open in October 2024, the office will serve as a key milestone in expanding economic partnerships, with a focus on boosting trade, investment, and business collaboration between the two countries.

The celebration also featured a captivating performance of Silat, a traditional martial art from Southeast Asia.

The Sindh PencakSilat Association, based in Karachi, performed the dynamic display, giving guests a glimpse into Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage. The evening wrapped up with attendees enjoying the warm hospitality of the Malaysian Consulate, as they commemorated the long-standing bond between Malaysia and Pakistan.
