LAHORE – Old fans consume a lot of energy due to inefficient motor designs, and outdated materials, and the government now aimed to offer Inverter fans in easy installments.
The federal government is moving forward with a mega project by replacing traditional fans with energy-efficient inverter fans. The initiative is expected to save around 5,000MW of electricity per annum.
In this regard, a three-year billing record has been sought from Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) to identify consumers. The plan involves replacing 80 million conventional fans nationwide, allowing households that currently use 100 watts of electricity to upgrade to 50-watt inverter fans.
Those who are interested will be required to pay a total of Rs15,000 per fan, with payment structured in 12 installments that will be deducted from their electricity bills. This initiative aims not only to cut electricity consumption but also to promote the use of sustainable energy solutions across the country.
