KANPUR –  India achieved a remarkable milestone with its fast-paced batting during the Test match in Kanpur.

India scored a total of 383 runs from 312 balls across both innings against Bangladesh, resulting in an impressive run rate of 7.36 runs per over.

This is the first time in Test cricket history that a team has maintained an average of over 7 runs per over.

Previously, South Africa set a record in 2005 by scoring at an average of 6.80 runs against Zimbabwe.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that during the same Kanpur Test, the Indian team became the first to complete 50 runs in just 3 overs, setting a new record for rapid scoring.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal accomplished this feat by reaching the team’s fifty in just 18 balls against Bangladesh.
