Three passengers arriving from Saudi Arabia were found to have symptoms of monkeypox during routine medical screening at Jinnah International Airport. The passengers were immediately transferred to the Sindh Government Hospital in the NIPA area for further medical evaluation and care. According to airport sources, the immigration area and walkways were disinfected with spray as a precautionary measure. Monkeypox, caused by the Mpox virus, is known for its rash, which appears 1 to 3 days after the onset of fever, typically beginning on the face before spreading across the body. Other symptoms include headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and exhaustion.

The virus is suspected to be harbored by African rodents and non-human primates, although the natural reservoir remains unidentified. The disease has an incubation period of 7 to 14 days and generally lasts between 2 and 4 weeks. Health authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent the spread of the virus.
