NEW YORK – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is all set to address the 79th session of the UN General Assembly New York today on Friday.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the premier will take up the issues of international concern, including Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir disputes at the world forum.
The spokesperson said Pakistan will continue to highlight the importance of resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
He will also urge the world to play role to save the countries, which are most vulnerable to climate change.
A day earlier, the premier held a meeting with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of 79th session of the UNGA.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and end of aggression against Palestine and Lebanon.
During the meeting, both the sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and underscored the need to further strengthen good neighbourly relations and build mutually beneficial cooperation.
PM Shehbaz highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment, improving connectivity and cultural ties with Iran.
The meeting helped reaffirm support for each other and bring forth opportunities for further strengthening this partnership.
