Directs timely completion of Islamabad Model Jail

 

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, presided over a meeting on Monday regarding transition of offices from the Public Works Department (PWD) to the CDA and timely construction of Islamabad Model Jail.

The meeting was attended by the Project Director of the PWD along with other relevant officers of the CDA and the PWD.

The meeting discussed the modalities of smooth transition of the construction work on the Islamabad Model Jail from PWD to CDA.

Discussions were held to ensure that the transition process takes place efficiently and promptly for making CDA an executing agency for the project in consultation with Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Planning, Development and Initiatives. Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that till the complete transition, PWD should work in full coordination with CDA to ensure seamless progress of the project.

A briefing was also given on the current status of the completed and ongoing work at the Islamabad Model Jail. Chairman Randhawa stressed the importance of completing the Phase- I of construction work by the assigned deadline. This phase includes the completion of critical infrastructure such as the boundary wall, barracks, the administrative block, roads and watchtowers (sentry posts).
