MUMBAI: Anil Arora, the father of Bollywood actress and dancer Malaika Arora, committed suicide by jumping from the roof of his residence in the Bandra area of Mumbai on Wednesday morning.
The police cordoned off the building at the scene but the authorities have not yet been able to determine reasons behind the suicide.
According to the officials, Malaika Arora was not at home when her father took this extreme step.
Upon receiving news of the suicide, Malaika Arora arrived at her father’s residence with other family members and her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan.
Malaika Arora’s father was originally from Punjab and had previously worked in the Indian Merchant Navy. Malaika Arora was only 11 years old when her parents separated.
After the separation, Malaika and her younger sister Amrita Rao lived with their mother.
