Weather outlook of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; scattered rains likely

PESHAWAR – Scattered rains with gusty winds are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, scattered rains with gusty winds are likely in Kohistan, Butgram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Peshawar, Nowshehra, Kohat, Kurum, Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rains and gusty winds are likely at isolated places in Kohistan, Butgram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Peshawar, Kohat and Kurum.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Wednesday and 37-39°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, Kalam received 01 mm of rain.

Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 55 per cent.
