Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has expressed firm resolve in relocating bus terminals outside Karachi, despite resistance from some bus operators. The minister revealed that, despite the provision of a free shuttle service to the new terminal, certain operators have filed cases based on what he described as “false and fabricated grounds.

“Memon, who also serves as the Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, stated that some operators are attempting to pressure public office holders by resisting legal actions and pursuing personal interests. However, he emphasized that the transfer of terminals would be completed regardless of external pressure. “The purpose of shifting the terminals outside Karachi is to clear city roads of illegal bus stands,” said Memon. He reiterated that the Transport Department remains fully committed to upholding the law and adhering to court orders on the matter.

The relocation of the terminals is part of a broader effort to streamline transport operations in the city and reduce congestion. Memon assured that the Sindh government is sensitive to the challenges faced by transporters and is committed to finding solutions that ease the burdens on both the transport industry and the public.

Negotiations between the government and transporters will continue, with Memon assuring that the interests of all stakeholders will be taken into account. However, he made it clear that the relocation process will move forward in accordance with the law, and the Transport Department will ensure smooth and legal operations within Karachi. The Senior Minister called on all parties involved to respect the court’s decision and cooperate in maintaining legal and organized transport services in the city.
