Sindh government and opposition have pledged to keep politics out of educational matters. The commitment emerged from a meeting between Sindh’s Minister of Education and Mineral Development, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, and Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi, with representatives from MQM Pakistan also present.

The discussion, held in the Minister’s office, included notable assembly members such as AdilAskari, Najam Mirza, and Rashid Khan. The focus of the meeting was the advancement of education in Sindh, with both parties agreeing to work together in a positive and cooperative manner. Minister Sardar Ali Shah expressed his appreciation for the opposition’s proactive stance and their support for initiatives like school adoption.

He stressed the importance of avoiding any negative political interference in education, highlighting the progress made in educational reforms, including the implementation of the Teachers’ Licensing Policy and Non-Formal Education programs. Opposition Leader Ali Khurshidi announced that MQM Pakistan’s 37 MPAs would soon provide a list of schools in their constituencies for the school adoption initiative. He assured that these MPAs would actively monitor the schools and remain committed to improving them.

Khurshidi emphasized that enhancing educational facilities in their constituencies is a top priority. Minister Sardar Ali Shah praised the opposition’s earnest response to the school adoption proposal, noting that this collaborative effort would bolster mutual oversight and enhancement in education. Both sides agreed to continue their meetings to address and resolve educational challenges in Sindh, marking a new era of cooperative reform.
