IG Sindh, Ghulam NabiMemon, chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office in Karachi to discuss formal and informal inspections of police stations. The session was attended in person by Additional IGs of Welfare and Works, Operations, IAB, DIGs of Crime and Investigations Branch, Headquarters, Establishment, and Investigation. Other police officials from Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana participated via video link.

During the meeting, all DIGs provided detailed briefings on the inspection procedures for police stations and their sub-departments, which are based on police rules and regulations. IG Sindh directed the participating officers to ensure that both formal and informal inspections of the relevant police stations are conducted with a focus on serving the public interest. He emphasized that the outcomes of these inspections should be used to improve the environment, training, and service delivery at police stations. He also instructed that police records and case properties be properly maintained, secured, and utilized.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of maintaining discipline within the police force and ensuring that all official equipment and vehicles remain fully operational. IG Sindh urged all DIGs and SSPs to take steps to increase the manpower available at police stations while ensuring that unnecessary personnel are reassigned as needed. He highlighted that the police force is a uniformed and disciplined organization, and it is essential to appoint skilled and experienced officers to key positions in police stations with a focus on public service.

He further instructed the officers to ensure the proper use of the budget allocated to police stations and to take all necessary steps to gradually promote an independent and autonomous policing system. In his closing remarks, IG Sindh strongly urged the officers to take strict legal action against drug mafias and wanted criminals, who he described as a cancer in society.
