Diesel Rs262.75

This marks the third consecutive reduction in fuel prices, with petrol prices having fallen by a total of Rs16.5 since July 30. In the previous review, petrol and diesel prices were reduced by Rs8.47 and Rs6.70 per litre, respectively.

Petrol, also known as mogas, is primarily used in private vehicles, rickshaws, and motorcycles. Rising fuel costs impact the budgets of middle- and lower-income groups, who depend heavily on petrol for transportation. High-speed diesel, used extensively in heavy goods vehicles, buses, trains, and agricultural machinery, plays a crucial role in the transport sector. Its price is often seen as a key driver of inflation, affecting the cost of goods like vegetables and other food items.
