LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif summoned an emergency meeting at the party’s central secretariat in Lahore, the sources close to the development said on Saturday.

The sources said that the meeting is due tomorrow at the PML-N’s central secretariat in Model Town.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz as well as federal and provincial ministers and senior members of the PML-N leadership would take part in the meeting.

The sources said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Rana Sanaullah would also be present.

The current political and economic situation in the country would be the agenda of the meeting.

Earlier, the reports emerged that PML-N President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to travel to London in the second week of September.

The sources said that Nawaz Sharif would visit London for his medical check-up.

Nawaz Sharif, they said, is scheduled to depart for London on September 11, where he would undergo a thorough medical examination.

The visit comes nearly a year after Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan in October 2023.

In addition to his health-related visit, it is also expected that Nawaz Sharif would hold several important political meetings during his stay in London.
