Sindh Home and Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar inaugurated the newly established Bar Room at the Sindh Bar Council, receiving a warm welcome from Bar members. During his address, the Law Minister announced the approval of land allocation requests for the Karachi Bar and Sindh High Court Bar, with further recommendations set to be made to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for covering the land allotment fees.

Recognizing the longstanding demands of the legal community, Lanjar also announced the approval of arms licenses for lawyers to ensure their self-defense.

“The lawyers have played a pivotal role in restoring and shaping democracy in Pakistan,” he stated, emphasizing the crucial contributions of the legal community. Lanjar praised the Karachi Bar’s strength and effectiveness, particularly during the judges’ restoration movement. He urged lawyers to prioritize their commitment to the Bar over political affiliations, noting that efforts are underway to provide plots to all Karachi Bar members. In recognition of his contributions, Karachi Bar President Amir Vardich presented the Law Minister with a shield and turban as tokens of respect. The event was attended by the Prosecutor General, Additional Advocate General, district judges, and other representatives of the legal fraternity.
