Karachi police have apprehended Waqar Ali, a suspect in the horrific rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl named Ganga in the Saddar area. The arrest followed the identification of Ali through CCTV footage, which showed him leading the victim to the crime scene. Ali, along with two accomplices, allegedly sexually assaulted Ganga before killing her.
The suspects then discarded her body in a trash bag near Lucky Star, Saddar. Authorities are actively pursuing the two remaining suspects using advanced technology to locate them. Dr. Sumaiya, the police surgeon, confirmed that the post-mortem examination revealed sexual assault.
The report also indicated that Ganga was likely murdered at a different location before her body was abandoned at the garbage site. The victim, who appeared to be a beggar based on her clothing, was subjected to a detailed forensic examination.
All relevant samples have been collected for serology, DNA, and drug testing. Preliminary findings support the occurrence of sexual assault, with the exact cause of death pending further investigation. In a separate case, a fake faith healer has been arrested in Faisalabad for allegedly raping an 18-year-old mentally challenged girl.
The suspect, Baba Sardar, was detained and a case has been filed at Sargodha Road Police Station. The victim’s family claims that Sardar not only assaulted the girl but also filmed the crime.
