Mayor monitors rainwater drainage amid ongoing downpour

Mayor Barrister MurtazaWahab, accompanied by COO KW&SC Engineer Asadullah Khan, visited the Clifton Pumping Station to inspect the city’s sewage and drainage operations. The inspection included a review of rainwater drainage systems, with support from Chief Engineer Sewerage AftabAlamChandio, Spokesperson for Political Affairs KaramullahWaqasi, and other senior officials.

During the visit, Mayor Wahab highlighted the ongoing efforts to manage rainwater using heavy machinery, including suction and jetting machines, across major highways like Shahrah e Faisal and Shahrahe  Pakistan. He assured the public that the Water Corporation, Municipal Corporation, and other local bodies are working around the clock to mitigate flooding and provide relief. The Mayor emphasized that drainage operations will continue until the rainwater is fully managed, with a rain emergency in effect due to forecasted additional rainfall. He urged citizens to limit their movement during heavy rains and adhere to precautionary measures to ensure their safety.
