The medical report for Natasha, the accused in the tragic Karsaz accident that killed a father and his daughter, has revealed the presence of ice, a banned substance, in her urine, according to sources. The report, which has been kept confidential but is part of the ongoing investigation, will be presented in court. Natasha has been charged in connection with the deaths of Imran Arif, 60, and his daughter AmnaArif, who were struck by her vehicle on August 19 near Karsaz.
A special investigation team has been established to probe the case. The police have collected and are reviewing all available CCTV footage. Investigators noted that Natasha has been inconsistent in her statements.
The accident occurred while she was driving from her home in DHA Scheme-I to her in-laws’ residence, a distance of approximately 3-4 kilometers. Her vehicle is registered under a private company.
New charges, including Section 322 Qatal-bis-Sabab (murder without intention), have been added to the case. This section carries a potential prison sentence of 10 to 18 years. The victim’s family may choose to accept diyat (blood money) as compensation, which would require Natasha to pay around Rs 6.8 million, equivalent to 30,360 grams of silver.
The police are also seeking additional CCTV footage to support the investigation. DIG East has urged anyone injured or with property damage from the accident to come forward. He assured that justice will be served and visited the victims’ home in Gulzar-i-Hijri, Scheme-33, to offer condolences and legal support. Natasha remains in judicial custody as ordered by the Karachi East court, which is also awaiting further details from the medical report.
