Will there be School Holiday in Karachi on Wednesday due to the shutter-down strike?

Will there be holiday tomorrow – Traders in major cities in Pakistan including the provincial capital Karachi will observe shutter-down strikes, and now rumours surfaced online claiming school holiday on August 28.

As parents and students were confused, Sindh Education Department cleared air on the matter. In a statement SED official said schools in Karachi and parts of Sindh will remain open on August 28.

Education Department spox also urged parents and students to avoid fake news or rumors about a school holiday. All government and private schools, and colleges will remain open as normal.

Pakistani traders have announced a nationwide shutter-down strike on August 28 Wednesday to raise voice against new taxes.

Traders also warned of extending strike amid declines in business activity, soaring taxes, inflated power bills.
