Ghani chairs key PPP Karachi towns meeting

Sindh Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani chaired meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) town Chairmans. The meeting was also attended by PPP Sindh General Secretary and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Syed Waqar Mehdi, Mayor Karachi Barrister MurtazaWahab, and Chief Minister’s Advisor NajmiAlam. Ghani instructed all town Chairmans to maintain close contact with their vice-Chairmans and UC Chairmans, vice-Chairmans, and councilors.

He emphasized that any complaints from vice-Chairmans or councilors should be addressed promptly. He noted that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has specifically directed those public facilities be ensured at all town and UC levels in Karachi.

Ghani stressed the need to guarantee salaries for all municipal employees and pensions for retired employees across Sindh. Waqar Mehdi informed that the PPP Sindh President has requested performance reports from all town Chairmans. These reports will be reviewed next month, and a summary will be presented to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Mehdi also highlighted the Chairman’s clear instructions for party representatives and organization to enhance mutual coordination to provide better services to Karachi’s residents. Mayor MurtazaWahab mentioned efforts to strengthen ties between the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and towns. He assured that meetings with each town will soon be held to address their issues and ensure solutions.

Wahab reiterated that all 25 towns of Karachi belong to the PPP, and the goal is to work together for the city’s betterment. He also noted that institutions such as the Water Board and Sindh Solid Waste will be involved. The ultimate aim is to make Karachi a city of lights, free from issues.
