Islamabad, Rawalpindi weather update; intermittent rains predicted

ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Pakistan on Friday night and Saturday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate southern parts of Pakistan. A trough of shallow westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Kashmir, northeast/south Punjab, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southeast Sindh on Friday night.

On Saturday, more intermittent rains and gusty winds are predicted in the twin cities and at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southeast/central Sindh, northeast Punjab, Potohar region and Kashmir. Heavy falls are expected at few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southeast Sindh.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, isolated rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in northeast Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern/south Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

Punjab: Joharabad 08, Sargodha 04, Lahore city 03, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal 02

Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis 06, Gilgit 01

Today\\\’s Recorded Highest Maximum Temperature’s (°C): Dalbandin, Nokundi 41, Turbat, Dadu, Sibbi and Multan 40.

Dalbandin and Nokkundi remained the hottest places in Pakistan where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Turbat, Dadu, Sibbi and Multan was recorded at 40°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 58 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 44 per cent.
