Lahore, Punjab weather update; more rains, isolated moderate falls predicted

LAHORE – More monsoon rains with isolated moderate falls are predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday night and Thursday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate upper and central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, rains are predicted in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur on Wednesday night. Moderate rainfall may also occur at isolated places in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore and Dera Ghazi Khan.

On Thursday, more rains are predicted in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Moderate rainfall may also occur at isolated places in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Thursday and 35-37°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, rains occurred in Lahore and parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Bahawalnagar remained the hottest place in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 62 per cent.
