KARACHI – The wife of a Karachi-based industrialist struck bikers and passersby, killing three people while driving her SUV on Karsaz Road on Monday.
The shocking accident occurred as the speeding car rammed into group of six individuals, resulting in two deaths on the spot, while a third victim passed away later in the hospital.
The white SUV, driven by a woman named Natasha, lost control and collided with a motorcycle, another vehicle, and several pedestrians before coming to a stop on service road.
The female driver, who was apparently under the influence, attempted to escape but was nabbed by bystanders. People also filmed the woman and shared the clip online, as the incident caused outrage.
Rescue officials rushed to site, and confirmed deaths of two people while third person died on the spot. Four others sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Rangers and police later rescuing the driver from an charged crowd a case was lodged. The woman driver was said to be wife of Danish Iqbal, a noted businessman.
