UHS Board of Studies approves MBBS exams schedule

LAHORE –  The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Studies in Medicine on Monday approved the MBBS examination schedule.

The new exam calendar was developed based on feedback from affiliated medical colleges, which provided insights on the academic session dates.

According to the fresh schedule, the students have to complete a minimum of nine months of the academic year to qualify for examinations while a one-month preparation period would be given to them before the exams.

The students, as per the directives of the Supreme Court, who fail their exams will not be promoted to the next academic year, and those failing supplementary exams will not advance to the next class, adhering to legal requirements.

The board also decided to maintain the confidentiality of external examiners’ identities for practical exams from college administrations. Practical and clinical exams will be conducted within three weeks following the final written exams.

Chairing the meeting, Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore emphasized, “I will consider it a success when we secure an exemption for the UK licensing exam for our degree.” Professor Al Farid-ul-Zafar, Convenor of the Board of Studies in Medicine, and principals from both government and private affiliated medical colleges were present.

Additionally, the board advised all affiliated colleges to include their penalty policies in their prospectuses to ensure transparency.

Second Professional MBBS Exams: Last week of January 2025

Third Professional MBBS Exams: Third week of December 2024

Fourth Professional MBBS Exams: Second week of January 2025
