Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing &Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Nasir Hussain Shah while denouncing the statements that Sindh government was creating hindrances in the free movement of the goods transport said that there was no such thing and all these statements were baseless.
The minister said that he strongly condemned all such statements, because since day one of the pandemic the Sindh government had not imposed any restrictions on the delivery of essential services and the goods transport.
He said that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had issued clear instructions that there should be no disruption in the supply of essential food items during the lock down. Nasir Hussain Shah said there was no ban on the port or on the provincial border on the goods transports’ movement. The delivery of all the essential food items was going on and there was no restriction. He said that the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also instructed that in this difficult situation the Sindh government had to go with the federal government. We needed to be very responsible at this critical time and refrain from blaming each other, the minister said.
The most important issue right now is that we have to reach out to the needy and help them,” he said. Nasir Hussain Shah said that people working on daily wages were the most affected because of the lock down, and at this time we had to ensure that they got everything they needed immediately. Provincial Minister for Information said that at this time all our energy should be focused on serving these people rather than accusing each other.
He also condemned that what was being announced that the movement of goods transport in Sindh would be ensured through Rangers. Nasir Shah said that this was not the right time for such announcements or statements, adding that if we had to control the spread of the Coronavirus then we would have to be together.
Meanwhile, he said that just as the Sindh government was worried about its doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, and ensuring that while treating the Coronavirus patients they should not be infected with the virus, in a similar way the Sindh government was also concerned about the journalists and other media-related workers, as they worked in field and constantly kept on coming in contact with the people.
