Preparations in full swing to celebrate Independence Day

ISLAMABAD – As the Independence Day is approaching closer, a large number of stalls displaying national flags, bunting, flag-coloured dresses and other accessories have been set up at markets and streets to attract buyers across the country.

A countrywide tree plantation drive “Plant for Pakistan Campaign” is also under way to promote plantation to reduce pollution.

The state TV broadcast special transmission to highlight the services and sacrifices of heroes of Pakistan Movement.

Despite that inflation is touching sky, the nation’s moral is high and they are busy in buying flags and buntings to celebrate the Independence Day.

Just a day ago, The European Union has paid a special tribute to Pakistan’s vibrant diversity envisioned by the founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

In connection with, Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, EU Ambassador Dr. Riina Kionka joined Pakistani musicians in Islamabad to perform a song inspired by Pakistan’s national anthem.

Meanwhile, US Senator Chris Van Hollen extended his warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.

In a heartfelt video message, the US Senator emphasized the strong and enduring bonds of friendship between the United States and Pakistan over the past many years. He highlighted the positive impact of the Pakistani American community in the U.S., noting their substantial contributions across various fields and their role as bridge builders between the two nations.

Senator Van Hollen also reflected on the generosity and warmth he has experienced from the Pakistani people throughout his life. He expressed his commitment to continuing the efforts to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Concluding his message, Senator Van Hollen wished all Pakistanis a very Happy Independence Day, celebrating the rich history and enduring friendship between the United States and Pakistan.
