RAWALPINDI – Beenish Fatima, a senior official of the Punjab Police, is all set to create history as she has been named as first woman Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) in Rawalpindi.
Fatima, who is currently serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), will replace outgoing CTO Rawalpindi Taimoor Khan next week, local media reported.
Overall, she would be the third woman to be appointed at this post in Punjab as Ammara Athar currently holds the post of CTO Lahore and Aisha Butt serves as CTO Gujranwala.
The daughter-in-law of the former IG police is the first women CTO in Rawalpindi since the establishment of the City Traffic Police in 2007.
Outgoing Taimoor Khan has been serving in the office since November 2022. A farewell ceremony was also organized for him where traffic officials appreciated his services for the department.
During his stint as CTO Rawalpind, Taimoor Khan took various measures to facilitate public by opening new license centres and driving schools.
