The Foreign Office on Friday rejected all speculations in India about Pakistan being involved in the ouster of Bangladesh’s ex-premier Sheikh Hasina, terming it New Delhi’s “disturbing obsession” with Islamabad.
The comments came after reports emerged from India accusing the Pakistan intelligence agencies for their alleged involvement in the collapse of Bangladesh’s government.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Indian political leaders and their media have a habit of blaming Pakistan for their failures in domestic and foreign policy.
She said Pakistan and Bangladesh have positive relations which have continued to grow over the last several years.
She said the government and people of Pakistan have expressed their support and solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and we sincerely hope for a peaceful and swift return to normalcy.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said, “We are confident that the resilient spirit and unity of the Bangladeshi people will lead them towards a harmonious future.”
Replying to another question, the Spokesperson said Pakistan’s High Commissioner attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Answering another question, she said Pakistan rejects statements of former Indian law enforcement officials blaming Pakistan for the increase in attacks in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She said, “We urge them to understand the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and take action in implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions to determine the future of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through an impartial plebiscite.” Mumtaz Zahra Baloch categorically denied reports claiming that Islamabad is planning to supply Shaheen ballistic missiles to Iran. Baloch stated that there is no truth to these allegations. Following the recent conflict between Iran and Israel, Baloch informed that the acting Iranian Foreign Minister had contacted Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
