MUMBAI – Indian cricketer KL Rahul once revealed that during his debut match, when he failed to perform, Bollywood actress and Virat Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, came to his room.
KL Rahul made his Test debut in 2014 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but it was not a memorable debut as Rahul was out for a duck.
According to Indian media reports, it was Anushka Sharma who was present with him. KL Rahul shared that both Virat and Anushka are his close friends and he has a wonderful story to share with his fans.
KL Rahul explained that Virat and Anushka played a crucial role in helping him get through his tough times, as a poor start can be quite demoralizing and can cause one to lose confidence.
The cricketer mentioned, “The debut match was in Australia, and coincidentally, Anushka was there to watch. When I got out, the actress saw me looking sad and lost in thought.”
Rahul continued, “Anushka came into my room and said that she would not let me sit alone or let me think about cricket. She also mentioned that she and Virat would take me out for dinner or sightseeing.”
The Indian batter added that Virat had explained that he was not the first person to experience such failure and that it was all part of life’s experiences.
During the same interview, Rahul also revealed that he had accompanied Anushka and Virat on several outings, during which they shared stories about how they met and fell in love.
