Waqar Mehdi, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh and General Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter, has condemned Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi’s actions on August 5, 2019, as a “heinous conspiracy.” Mehdi compared India’s tactics in occupied Kashmir to those used by Israel in Palestine, highlighting the gravity of the situation. In his statement on Kashmir Exploitation Day, Mehdi criticized India’s move to revoke Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, which led to the granting of domicile status to over 5 million non-Kashmiris in the region.
He asserted that this action aims to undermine the unique identity and culture of the Muslim-majority region of Kashmir. Mehdi pointed out that these actions are in direct violation of United Nations resolutions and international laws.
