PESHAWAR – Intermittent rains with isolated heavy falls and gusty winds are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate central and southern parts of Pakistan which will likely affect upper parts tonight.
Under these weather conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected in Waziristan, Bannu, Kurrum, Kohistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Batgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Peshawar, Mohmand, Khyber and Bajaur on Monday night. Isolated heavy falls may occur in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Dir, Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar and Bajaur.
On Tuesday, intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Batgram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan and Bannu. Isolated heavy falls may also occur in Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Dir, Swat, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar and Bajaur.
Downpours may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Mansehra, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera and Swabi. Landslides may disrupt traffic in vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 32-34°C on Tuesday and 31-33°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 89 per cent.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.
