RAWALPINDI – Director General Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif addressed the nation about security situation, ongoing propaganda against armed forces, and military’s innitiave for country’s youth.

In his presser on Monday, the army spokesperson shed light on wide range of topics. Below mentioned are some of the key takeaways from his recent media interaction.

Kashmir Issue

DG ISPR said resolving Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in region. Pakistan’s forces honor the martyrs of Occupied Kashmir, extending support to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

Socio-Economic Projects and Welfare Efforts

Pakista Army continues to take part in socio-economic projects for the betterment of the people. As per COAS instructions, information technology is a key project for youth employment. Army operates within the mandate provided by the government of Pakistan.

Despite criticism, Army continues its work in education and health, emphasizing that it is not an elite force but one that serves the nation.

Oil Permits

ISPR spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that Army does not issue permits for Iranian oil, and efforts are ongoing to curb illegal activities. He said Army is working to stop illegal trade.

May 9 Stance 

Army’s position regarding events on May 9 remains unchanged. Lt Gen Chaudhry said there will be no change in stance, which was clearly communicated in May 7 press conference. Those responsible for the riots must be held accountable.

Digital Terrorism

He pointed out external entities using social media to spread anarchy and despair, investing in lobbying and creating negative narratives.

Gwadar Situation & Balochistan Yekjehti Committee

ISPR said government’s authority is established in Gwadar, and certain groups are accused of trying to discredit institutions fighting terrorism and smuggling.

The Committee and its leadership are labeled as proxies of terrorist organizations, spreading chaos with external funding and narratives.
