KARACHI – Significant rains and gusty winds are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Monday night and Tuesday with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/eastern parts of Pakistan. They will likely approach central/southern parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, significant rains and gusty winds are expected in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Chhor, Padidan, Mohenjodharo, Karachi, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu on Monday night. Heavy falls may also occur at isolated places during the period.
On Tuesday, more intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Karachi, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu. Heavy falls may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi and lower Sindh during the forecast period.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 35-37°C on Tuesday and 34-36°C on Wednesday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Tuesday and 35-37°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. However, rain occurred at isolated places of the province.

Dadu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45°C. Maximum temperature in Sukkur and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 43°C, and Nawabshah at 41°C.
In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.
In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 73 per cent.
