Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, emphasized the importance of skill development among the youth for Pakistan’s bright future during his address at the 11th convocation of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU). He highlighted that over 60% of Pakistan’s population comprises young people, making it crucial to harness their potential for the nation’s progress.

Governor Tessori, also the Chancellor of MAJU, urged educational institutions to focus on making the youth skilled and productive.

He noted, “The future of Pakistan depends on the capabilities of its youth. Education is the foundation of a strong society, and it is our duty to provide the best opportunities for our young people to thrive.”

The convocation was attended by Pro-Chancellor Professor Sohail Afzal, President Dr. Zubair Ahmed Shaikh, Board of Governors members, students, and their parents. Governor Tessori congratulated the students, acknowledging their hard work and dedication, which he said brings pride to the university. He praised the Sindh government’s efforts in providing modern education and skill development programs in partnership with international organizations like SAP, Google, CISCO, and Microsoft. “MAJU’s collaboration with these global institutions ensures our students receive contemporary education and training, preparing them to excel globally,” he remarked. Governor Tessori proposed expanding MAJU’s reach to other parts of the province and assured students of continuous support in their educational and professional journeys.

He distributed medals to top-performing students, emphasizing resilience and determination in overcoming challenges. Addressing the media post-convocation, Governor Tessori shared his recent interaction with the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, who suggested a collective effort to address Pakistan’s debt issues. Tessori also highlighted the potential of the IT sector, acknowledging the Prime Minister and Army Chief for including IT in the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which he believes will significantly boost Pakistan’s economy.
