LAHORE – More intermittent monsoon rains and gusty winds are likely in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Sunday night and the next 2-3 days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says.
As per the synoptic situation, moderate monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/eastern parts of Pakistan. They will likely spread to central/southern parts of the country from July 29.
Under these weather conditions, more monsoon rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Gujarat, Khushab, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Faisalabad on Sunday night. Rain-wind/thunderstorms may also occur in Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Sahiwal during the period.
On Monday and Tuesday, more monsoon rains and gusty winds are likely in Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Gujrat, Khushab, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan. Heavy falls may also occur at a few places in northeast/southern districts during this period.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 37-39°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, rain winds/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls occurred in Lahore and upper/central Punjab during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Maximum temperature in Bahawalpur was recorded at 41°C, and Sahiwal at 40°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
