A female flight attendant of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been busted for trying to smuggle 140,000 Saudi Riyal at Lahore Airport.

The air hostess was nabbed while attempting to smuggle currency at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. The individual had concealed 140,000 Saudi riyals in her socks.

Customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore caught PIA air-hostess red-handed as she tried to smuggle foreign currency. According to DC Customs Raja Bilal, the air hostess was removed from a flight to Jeddah after officials found the hidden currency. The concealed amount, equivalent to $37,000, was discovered during routine checks.

Customs authorities took swift action, referring air hostess to the investigating officer and a case will be filed against her. This incident highlights continuous efforts by customs to prevent illegal currency smuggling at the airport.
