WASHINGTON – A bill opposing Pakistan and China has been presented by a Republican member in the U.S. Senate.
Republican Senator Marco Rubio introduced the bill in the U.S. Senate, promising support to India to counter China’s growing influence and alleged threats from Pakistan.
The bill emphasizes treating India as an ally, similar to Israel, Korea, Japan, and NATO.
The bill, presented by the member of Congress, suggests halting aid to Pakistan and informing Congress about any alleged actions against India.
The bill also proposes enhancing “strategic diplomatic, economic, and military relations” with New Delhi.
According to the report, if the bill is passed, it could have significant impacts on Pakistan, especially at a time when Islamabad and Washington are working to strengthen their bilateral relations.
It may be mentioned here that Republican Senator Marco Rubio from Florida has been a member of the Senate since 2011.
He participated as a presidential candidate in the 2015 elections and won several states during the primaries but he dropped out of the race in 2016.
